
Lancers advance to consolation final
Gustavo Siquiera had 13 kills and four aces as the No. 6 Windsor Lancers upended the No. 7 Western Mustangs 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19) in the first consolation semifinal of the 2025 U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship Presented by Sunrise Credit Union at the Healthy Living Centre Gymnasium.
Will Brewer added 10 kills, OUA Second Team All-star Quintin Greenidge tallied 13 digs and conference Player of the Year Markus Law-Heese registered 35 assists, as the Lancers took the fourth straight-sets victory in five matches thus far at the tournament.
Oliver Toomes with nine kills and Michael Jones with eight digs led the Mustangs in a losing cause.
Windsor recorded a .378 hitting percentage in the match, compared to Western's .125
With the win, Windsor advances to the fifth-place game Sunday at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT and will play the winner of the second consolation match between No. 1 Winnipeg and No. 4 Queen's. Western ends their season with an overall record of 12-13 in regular season, conference playoff and U SPORTS Championship action.
